The total production of an item depends on the number of active units registered with the source agencies for that specific item and
it is made by direct collection of monthly production data on selected items from factories with 200 or more workers should be explored.
State Directorates of Economics and Statistics are engaged in the compilation of State-level Indices of Industrial Production (IIPs) month wise.

Industrial Production
The IIP is compiled as a simple weighted arithmetic mean of production relatives by using Laspeyre’s formula. The IIP is a quantum index, the production of items being expressed in physical terms. The scope of the IIP as recommended by the United Nations Statistical Office (UNSO) includes mining, manufacturing, construction, electricity, gas and water supply. But due to constraints of data availability, the IIP compiled in the State of Nagaland includes mining, manufacturing and electricity.
